John Charles Designs

John Charles Designs is renowned for blending rich and lustrous wood finishes with a delicious array of highly tactile, neutral fabrics on comfortable and appealing upholstery frames.  Once its own award-winning boutique company, founded by lead designer and creative director, Nancy Genova with her husband John Genova, the line was acquired by American Leather in 2008.

Over the years, Nancy Genova, along with her design team Goodman/Charlton and designer Michael Wolk, collected five Pinnacle Awards, the home furnishings industry’s highest design honor. These winning styles include Tres, Luxe, and Tori.

The company’s designs and Genova’s marriage of frame and textile are considered unparalleled for their sophisticated and distinctive look.  Retailers and industry insiders alike are inspired by her textile palettes of warm neutrals interspersed with bold contrasting cloths.

Genova continues to work with American Leather as a designer and textile advisor.
